Spring has Sprung

Finally. The weather is purrrfect. For about the past month, the weather in Utah Valley has been amazing. The J-Man and I spend as much time outside as possible. Our favorites are walking to the park, the library, or just hanging out in our backyard/parking garage/driveway putting seeds or rocks down the drain.

When we aren't putting seeds down the drain we occasionally get out of the apartment and do something a little more exciting. I know, what could be more thrilling than that!? (We literally do it daily). Well there is tons of stuff to do in Utah year round, but especially in the spring and summer and we are trying to take advantage of as much of it as possible.

A few weeks ago we headed up to Thanksgiving Point to check out the farm with Jack's bestie. I had heard about the farm from a few different people so I was really looking forward to it. However, it ended up being better then I even expected. It was cheap, had tons of animals, and since you have to drive through American Fork you might as well stop at the Chickfila!

Jack and Jackson had tons of fun, we will def be going back.

A few weeks later when Gar was working Jack and I went down to Fairview to visit our favoritest people. Basically they step in as our parents and Jack's grandparents since we are so far away from our own. We had a blast walking all over Fairview, shopping in the cutest toy store, checking out the museum, preparing the garden, and Jack got to play with his favorite - the wagon.

This past Monday we walked over to Pioneer Village for a little family night activity. It can best be described as a mini Nauvoo. There are old pioneer homes, a general store, school house, blacksmith shop, outhouse, and a working garden. We loved it! We spent a majority of the time trying to master the pioneer games, but none of us were brave enough to try the stilts.

There is still lots more to do this summer, including the Provo Farmer's Market which finally opens this weekend!

Mother's Day Vacay

According to this blog all I do is go on vacation - oh, how I wish that was true! I guess I could bore my readers (aka my Mom and sister) with which celebrity was on Sesame Street each morning, the size diapers Jack is wearing or which flavor of yogurt Jack likes best. I am pretty positive that would bore my readers to the point where the guilt of being my blood wouldn't even be enough to make them read it. So I guess I'll just continue to make my life look more exciting than it is!

So, for Mother's Day Gar treated me with a trip to Texas to visit family since he was going out of town. I jump at any chance to visit the fam so I was very excited- plus Garrett also wins points with my Mom because she feels as if it is also a Mother's Day present for her too (have I mentioned how she loves Jack more than me?). Win, win! I'll use pictures to narrate our vacation because that's just always more exciting... and a little monster may or may not have ripped off my space bar so typing is a little difficult.

Our second day in Tejas was Aunt Hannie's senior prom so Jack and I went to spend the night at my sis-in-law's so her friends wouldn't have to worry about being too loud when they came back to my parent's house after the dance. But Jack loves to play/watch his cousins and he looved the mini pool, so it was fantastic.

When we were in the Mac with my family we went on a lot of walks, played at the park, visited Grandma at work and Jack got to spend a night with Grandpa at the Dairy Queen.

Mother's Day was wonderful. I missed having Garrett there with me, but he made up for it with an edible arrangement and a mani/pedi. My parents were also wonderful. My Dad got up with Jack so that I could sleep in and then made breakfast. And we got to Skype with Elder Hagee! As always, it was great.

Спасибо Elder Hagee

Sometimes when your brother is on a mission you miss his hilariousness. Then you get an email with pictures that make you laugh out loud. I had to share.

Apparently you can play dress up on the streets in Yalta. Who knew?

San Fran as a Fam Part 2

You know how sometimes homeless people can say things to you that make you uncomfortable? Well if that's the case, just take Jack around with you and your mind will change. The homeless homies of San Fran loved Jack boy. Probs because he's so adorbs; he got tons of smiles, thumbs up, and encouraging comments. Thanks homeless homies!

The second half of our vacay including driving Lombard Street, visiting the Oakland Temple, riding the cable cars, hitting up the beach, swimming in the hotel pool, and being annoyed at Kevin Durant. Who makes a shot like that at the last second!?

The crookedest street ever.

Finally visiting the Temple where my parents were married in 1980.

Took a ride on the bumpy cable cars.

Parking to the Muir forrest was out of control, so we went to the next best place-Muir Beach! There weren't any Redwood trees, but there was sand and waves!

Thanks for the memories San Fran. It was real.
