Chihuly Girls Night

One of my most favoritest things I did while we were in Texas was our girls night. Don't get me wrong, I love me some time with Gar and Jack but spending an evening with Hannah, Lauren and Jennifer is always an adventure. One evening the four of us drove down to the Dallas Arboretum to see the gardens and the Chihuly glass exhibit. Basically I knew nothing about Chihuly or blown glass before we went but now I can say I am a big fan. And I actually realized, while reading his wikipedia page, that I had seen a Chihuiy before - he has a piece on the ceiling in the Bellagio. But before we got to the Arboretum I made us stop at Sprinkles Cupcakes because I literally have a cupcake problem. I was really looking forward to going to Sprinkles since it's the "original" cupcakery, all natural ingredients, blah, blah, blah - but we were all disappointed! I'd take a boxed fun-fetti cupcake over those any day. Sors.

Apparently if you go to Sprinkles you have to take a picture of the cupcakes... or at least that's what everyone on Instagram thinks. But seriously, don't be fooled by how cute they look.

The Stars At Night Are Big and Bright

Sometimes it is hard living so far away from our family - both sides live in Texas while we live 1,190 miles away in Utah (to be exact). Often Garrett and I are homesick for our families, friends, real Tex-Mex food, and especially that Texas winter weather. So this summer we planned a super vacation to our favorite place! The main reason we went to Texas was to be there for Billy's homecoming but extended our trip to spend as much time with family as possible. Of course we made sure to attend a few Rangers games, catch up with friends, and spend as much time in the pool as we could. I mean for reals though, we didn't really have a choice when it came to going swimming - what the heck else do you do when its 110 outside??

Splash pad. And yes the second picture cracks me up because yes, I am immature.

Okay well that isn't even half of the pictures that I have of us in the pool. (and when I say "us" I mean Jack swimming with someone else and me behind the camera) Seriously, I think we swam everyday. One day after we swam there was a momentous occasion - Jack had his first haircut! He wasn't the biggest fan of the scissors, but we all survived.

Date night at the Rangers game. The picture of us pretty much summarizes how we both feel about the Boomstick - I think it's bascusting and Garrett would possibly try it (gag).

Stayed tuned for the rest of our Texas trip... I'm just too lazy to make one blog post about the entire trip.
