July 2014

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the fourth of July is the greatest. My Dad always made a big deal of it growing up and I love carrying on the tradition. This year we started the day off at Provo's Freedom Festival parade. We made sure to get our spot for the parade 24 hours in advance (the Provo parade is insane in the membrane) and we also used our "hey will you watch our spot in exchange for donuts" trick with our parade-neighbors. H-to-the-no I will not spend the night on the street for a parade.

The morning of the fourth I left the house with Bradley around six, drove through the donut shop, and went to go sit in our spot. Then around eight Jack and Garrett arrived and the parade began an hour later. It was as great as always, but the best part was watching Jack dance every time a marching band passed by. No joke - that kid can groove.

That evening we had a family cookout, set off fireworks in our driveway and then watched the firework shows in the distance from Jack's bedroom window.

The rest of the month was spent enjoying as much of the summer-ness as possible. (That makes sense, right?) We spent our days:

Side note - I am still having potty training nightmares.
